The AutomataFest Fair - Sunday 11th May

10am - 5pm

Sunday ticket holders will have access to The Observer Building main event space. You will be able to meet the presenters, see their automata, visit the display areas, and take part in automata-making activities.

Also on Sunday 11th May there will be limited display areas for the general public to enjoy the fun and magic of automata free of charge.

The following will be in the ticketed event space in The Observer Building, Cambridge Road:

• Presentations and show-and-tell from these and other automatists: Paul Spooner, Kim Booth, Teun de Wijs, Oliver Pett, and Fi Henshall.

• The House of Automata will demonstrate the fiendishly clever Archer Automaton and other pieces from their collection.

• Tim Hunkin will invite you to take his Housing Ladder challenge.

• Paul Spooner will preview two of his latest automata works and show you his sketchbooks.

• Nik Ramage will entertain with his quirky mechanical interventions.

• Will Jackson from Engineered Arts will demonstrate the mechanical and AI capabilities of Ameca Desktop.

• Dave Goodchild will preview his incredible Writer automaton

There will also be opportunities to have a go at making simple automata

• Lou Cousin’s automata making challenge.

• Stephen Guy’s Ensemble Workshop.

• Ryan Jenkins’ giant mechanical construction.

• As well as a chance to have your portrait drawn by a gorilla!

The following will be in the FREE Display areas in The Observer Building Vaults and the neighbouring Mechanical Making Space. Entrance through Gotham Alley off Claremont, TN34 1HA.
