Hugo tells the story of a boy who lives alone in a railway station in 1930s Paris who becomes embroiled in a mystery surrounding his late father’s automaton and pioneering filmmaker Georges Méliès.
Michael Start was the film’s automata and horological consultant and designed the mechanism of the automaton as well as dressing all of the sets incorporating automata or clocks.
Michael and Maria will introduce the film, and share some details of the automata to watch out for. After the film they will reveal some of the untold stories behind the scenes and answer questions about the making of the film.
Capacity is limited so please make sure to book in advance.
