Volunteering at AutomataFest 2027

We are looking for wonderful volunteers to join the AutomataFest 2027 family! Our volunteers are a crucial part of the success of AutomataFest. Volunteering with us is a fantastic way to experience the event from behind the scenes, meet amazing like-minded people, and get invaluable face-to-face time with the incredible automata community.

What will you be doing?

Every day is different, and we have a variety of exciting roles to get involved in. Your tasks might include (but aren't limited to):

Welcoming Guests: Guiding visitors to our exhibition areas and general wayfinding around The White Rock Theatre.
Information Point: Staffing the central information point to help visitors make the most of their time at AutomataFest.
Behind-the-Scenes Action: Assisting the load-in and load-out, or providing hands-on stage assistance.
Merch & More: Helping to manage the sales of exclusive merchandise, programmes, and handling donations.

Who are we looking for?

Because you will be the welcoming face of AutomataFest, a friendly, confident, and communicative approach is key! In all of our roles, you'll be chatting with ticket holders, presenters, artists, and the general public, so a warm smile and a helpful attitude go a long way.

We want to make sure you have an amazing time, so as a thank you for your hard work, we offer:

FREE entry to AutomataFest 2027 (3-Day ticket RRP £225)
Access to tea and coffee and refreshments to keep you fuelled!
Complimentary lunch provided (if completing a shift up to or over 8 hours)
Main stage access: The opportunity to attend at least 1 x talk on the main stage (guaranteed for all volunteers completing an 8-hour shift)

To ensure the festival runs smoothly and safely for everyone, we kindly ask that you:

Complete your allocated shifts and required tasks
Attend a full Staff and Health & Safety briefing before the event kicks off
Sign and return a simple volunteer agreement document
